Evaluation on the utilization efficiency of operation room resources based on TOPSIS and RSR

Abstract:Objective To measure the utilization efficiency of operation room resources and provide management approach and experience for its performance appraisalm Methods Expert consultation was used to determine four indicators, including punctuality rate of the first operation time, the proportion of the fourth-grade surgery, the total number of surgery, and the total cost of surgery. TOPSIS and RSR were used to evaluate the data of the 10 surgical departments from July to December 2019. Results Poor resource utilization efficiency lies in the Thoracic Surgery and the Abdominal Difficulty Center; the general good resource utilization efficiency lies in Orthopedics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Ophthalmology & Otorhinolaryngology, Neurosurgery, Urology, Cardiac Surgery; the excellent lies in General Surgery and Thyroid Center. Conclusion TOPSIS method and RSR method can be used to effectively measure the utilization efficiency of operating room resources, and performance assessment based on this method can guide the efficient utilization of operating room resources.
