Abstract:Objective To investigate the characteristics of incontinence associated dermatitis (IAD) and influencing factors in ICU patients. Methods Totally 105 patients who were admitted into our hospital from Oct. 1, 2015 to Oct. 31, 2016 and met the conditions were selected for the study, and the factors influencing the occurrence of IAD were analyzed. Results The results showed that factors such as APACHEⅡscore, albumin, daily fecal incontinence more than twice, the distribution of stool characteristics over the body, Braden score less than 11 points might be related to the occurrence of IAD (P<0.05). By logistic regression factors, the results showed that watery or loose stool, and Braden score lower than 11 points were independent risk factors (P<0.05). Conclusion A considerable part of ICU patients with fecal incontinence will develop IAD in a short time, especially in patients with low Braden score and shapeless or watery stools, which has some significance for the prevention and treatment of IAD.
