Abstract:Objective To study the influence of different BMI levels to the resident health in Tongxiang. Methods The residents in Fengming community, Tongxiang city were selected to receive physical check-up and blood biochemical tests. The situation of blood pressure, blood lipid and blood sugar were analyzed under different BMI levels. Results With the increase of BMI, the prevalence of hypertension, blood lipid, blood glucose and insulin were rising accordingly; between the normal BMI and overweight, there was significant difference on SBP (t=6.169, P<0.001), DBP(t=7.440, P<0.001), TG(t=4.575, P<0.001), HDL (t=3.202, P=0.001), OGTT blood sugar(t=2.719, P=0.007), FINS(t=6.666, P<0.001) and OGTT insulin(t=3.954, P<0.001). Conclusion The risk of chronic diseases should be taken seriously from the start of overweight (BMI≥ 24), and we should pay attention to health and keep a good way of life in order to reduce high blood pressure, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
