Abstract:Objective To learn about health status, health utilization and problem of children under 5 in migrant population, and to provide evidence for promoting health status of them. Methods Using the data of the 5th China national health services survey in 2013, we analyzed the morbidity, treatment, hospitalization, and utilization of public health service. Results Two-week morbidity rate of migrant children was 15%, higher than general children (11.5% in urban, 9.9% in rural), and 83.3% of two-week disease was ARI. Morbidity rates of ARI and diarrhea were higher than those of general children. 79.2% of two-week illness children saw doctors, and 20.8% used self-treatment. The proportion of self-treatment was higher than that of general children (15.6% in urban, 11.7% in rural). Hospitalization rate of migrant children was 5.6%, lower than that of general children (7.4% in urban, 9.5% in rural). The proportion that should be hospitalized while without hospitalization was 15.3%, higher than that of general children (6.9% in urban, 6.3% in rural). Public health status was good. Physical examination rate and planned immunization rate were at high level, approach to general children. Conclusion We should develop the function of community health service institution, advance the consciousness of parents, pay more attention to migrant children′s physical and psychological health, increase utilization of health services, and promote migrant children′s health status.
