Abstract:Objective To understand the health status of teaching and living environment in primary and secondary schools in Xuyi County, and to provide scientific basis for improving teaching and living health conditions.Methods Totally 130 classrooms and 36 dormitories from 22 primary and secondary schools in Xuyi County were analyzed according to 13 items of seven indicators including classroom per capita area, the fitting configuration of desks and chairs in the classroom, the qualification rate of blackboard reflection coefficient, classroom lighting, classroom illumination, microclimate, and noise.Results The teaching and living environment hygiene status of 22 primary and secondary schools was not satisfactory, with the qualified rate of classroom per capita area 50.77%, the matching rate of desk and chair assignment 37.69%, the pass rate of blackboard reflection 12.31%, the pass rate of classroom desktop illumination 56.15%, the acceptance rate of blackboard illumination 17.69%, the qualified rate of classroom carbon dioxide concentration 27.69%, the pass rate of female toilets 45.45%, and the per capita area compliance rate of dormitory 58.33%.Conclusion The health status of primary and secondary schools of classroom teaching and living environment in Xuyi County is serious. The government should increase investment, improve the teaching and living environment in accordance with national health standards, and create a favorable environment for the healthy growth of students.
