Abstract:Objective To explore the effect comparison between implantable venous access port (IVAP) and peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) of chemotherapy patients of breast cancer. Methods 240 cases of radical mastectomy were randomly divided into PICC group and IVAP group, 120 cases each group. PICC group was given PICC catheterization method, and IVAP group was adopted IVAP Catheterization. The indexes of success rate of puncture, catheterization time, incidence rate of complications, comfort degree, nursing satisfaction degree and life quality were compared between the two groups. Results There was no statistical significance about success rate of the first puncture between the two groups (P>0.05). The catheterization time in the IVAP group was longer than the PICC group (P<0.01). The incidence rate of complications in the IVAP group was 8.33%, lower than the PICC group (P<0.01). The scores of comfort degree and life quality in the IVAP group were both lower than the PICC group (P<0.01), but the score of nursing satisfaction degree in the IVAP group was higher than the PICC group (P<0.01).Conclusion Contrast with PICC method, chemotherapy patients of breast cancer use of IVAP method, it could extend catheterization time, cut down incidence rate of complications, raise comfort degree and satisfaction degree, and improve life quality of prognosis.
