| Analysis on the neonatal disease composition and death causes in hospital from 2006 to 2015 |

Abstract Objective To understand the disease composition and neonatal death causes, and to provide a scientific basis for guiding neonatal disease control and prevention, reducing the fatality rate, and improving the quality of life. Methods Totally 17 158 cases born within 28 days from the year 2006 to 2015, were selected and Excel XP was used to analyze the indexes such as gender, age, patient disease constitution and death causes etc. Results The morbidity varied from genders, and the ratio was 1.75∶1. the proportion of newborns under 7days was the highest, accounting for about 76.65%. Among the neonatal diseases, the top three were premature infants, neonatal pneumonia, and neonatal hyperbilirubinemia. Premature birth was the main cause of death. Conclusion We should strengthen the management of perinatal pregnant women, and prevent and treat intrauterine infection diseases actively. Early diagnosis and treatment should be carried out for the illness of newborns, to improve the life quality of newborn babies.
