Abstract:Objective analyze the cases of malignant tumors in a tertiary traditional Chinese medicine hospital in Shandong Province, so as to provide reference for the prevention and treatment of malignant tumors in the hospital and the local area.Methods Data were collected from the first page of medical records of malignant tumor patients from January 2018 to June 2022, and the age and gender distribution of the inpatients were analyzed, as well as the composition and ranking changes of the top 10 malignant tumor diseases in different years, genders and age groups.Results There were 76 714 patients with malignant tumors, including 35 189 males and 41 525 females, and the male to female ratio was 0.85∶1. The patients were mainly aged-over-50, with 67 997 patients, accounting for 88.64%. The number of hospitalized patients with malignant tumors increased year by year from 2018 to 2022. The top five malignant tumors were lung cancer, stomach cancer, colorectal cancer, liver cancer and kidney cancer in males, and breast cancer, lung cancer, cervical cancer, colorectal cancer and stomach cancer in females. The top three diseases of patients over 50 years old were lung cancer, breast cancer and colorectal cancer in the 50- years old group, lung cancer, breast cancer and stomach cancer in the 60- years old group, and lung cancer, stomach cancer and colorectal cancer in the group over 70 years old.Conclusion The hospital authorities should further strengthen scientific management, optimize the allocation of medical resources within the hospital, and authorities in the relevant competent departments should formulate comprehensive prevention and treatment measures for local population with malignant tumors over 50 years old.
