The effects of the ICB on walking ability of children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy |

Abstract Objective To approach the effects of the ICB(international college of biomechanics,ICB) on walking ability of children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy.Methods Forty cases of hemiplegic cerebral palsy were randomly divided into therapy group and control group,20 cases in each group.All patients received conventional rehabilitation,and the therapy group were given the ICB in addition.Before and after training 12 weeks,the GMFM-88-E scores were assessed on the change of walking ability of the children.Results After treatment for 12 weeks,the GMFM-88-E scores were notably increased in both groups as compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),more significantly in therapy group than in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The ICB can significantly improve the walking ability of children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy.
