The clinical effect of proximal fibular osteotomy combined with drilling decompression in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis |

Abstract Objective To compare the clinical effects of the proximal fibular osteotomy combined with drilling decompression and simple proximal fibular osteotomy in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis (KOA) dominated by medial compartment lesions.Methods 45 cases of knee osteoarthritis patients were divided into treatment group (23 cases) and control group (22 cases) based on the random number table.Treatment group was given the proximal fibular osteotomy combined with drilling decompression;control group was given the simple proximal fibular osteotomy.The visual analogue scores (VAS) in the static, the hospital special surgery (HSS) scores, femoral tibia angles of the two group patients at different time points were recorded and compared.Results The observation indexes of the two groups were significantly improved compared with those before operation.The VAS scores in the static at different time points after operation of the treatment group was significantly lower than that of the control group.The HSS scores at different time points after operation of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group.There was no significant difference in femoral tibial Angle between the two groups pre-operation and 7 days after operation, the femoral tibia angle of the treatment group was significantly decreased than that of the control group at 3 and 6 month after operation.Conclusion proximal fibular osteotomy combined with drilling decompression can significantly relieve the rest pain of the patients with knee osteoarthritis, and promote the treatment effect of simple proximal fibula osteotomy, and improve the function of knee joint better.
