Analysis on distribution and drug resistance of pseudomonas aeruginosa in a hospital in 2019 |

Abstract Objective To explore the distribution and drug resistance of pseudomonas aeruginosa in our hospital in 2019, and to provide reference for rational use of antibiotics in clinics.Methods Four hundred and twenty-two Strains of pseudomonas aeruginosa were collected in our hospital in 2019, and the specimen source, department distribution and the drug resistance were analyzed.Results Totally 422 strains of pseudomonas aeruginosa were isolated. The primary source included sputum (71.1%), fester (7.3%), alveolar lavage fluid (5.2%); pseudomonas aeruginosa was mainly detected from ICU (19.9%), followed by department of respiratory medicine (17.1%) and department of thoracic surgery ward (8.5%). In 2019 the drug resistance rates of pseudomonas aeruginosa against amikacin was the lowest (0.2%); the pseudomonas aeruginosa had a lower resistance against polymyxin (0.3%) and tobramycin (1.7%), but it had higher resistance rate against ticacillin/clavulanic acid.Conclusion Bacterial drug resistance monitoring should be strengthened, and effective measures should be taken to control the spread of drug-resistant strains.
