| Investigation and research on the health status of elderly people living at home in rural area of Binzhou |

Abstract Objective To understand the health status of elderly people living at home in rural area of Binzhou, and further explore the factors affecting the health status of elderly people, so as to provide reference for relevant government departments to formulate health promotion policies for elderly people living at home in rural area.Methods Four hundred and sixty-five elderly people in rural area of Binzhou were investigated by questionnaire and SF-36 health survey.Results The health status of elderly people living at home in rural area of Binzhou was not very ideal. Scores of the six dimensions including physiological function (PF), role physical (RP), bodily pain (BP), general health (GH), social function (SF) and role emotional (RE) were all lower than the norm scores, P<0.05, while scores of the two dimensions of vitality (VT) and mental health (MH) were higher than the norm scores, P<0.05. The health status of rural residents in Binzhou was related to gender, age, marital status, living style and monthly income in 8 dimensions, P<0.05, and the difference was statistically significant, P<0.05.Conclusion The general health status of the elderly in rural areas of Binzhou is not very ideal, and relevant government departments should give reasonable health promotion according to the actual situation of the elderly in the area.
