Effect evaluation of the peer education model on health education in patients with rheumatoid arthritis |

Abstract Objective To investigate the effect of peer education mode on education in RA patients. Methods By using the random number table method, 160 RA patients discharged from a tertiary hospital in Binzhou were selected and divided into the control group 80 cases and the intervention group 80 cases. The control group adopted the regular telephone follow-up health education intervention mode, while the intervention group adopted the peer education mode, and the intervention period was 3 months. The quality of life (SF-36 scale), anxiety and depression (SAS and SDS scale) and medication compliance (Morisky medication compliance scale) of the two groups before and after the intervention were compared. Results The scores of energy VT, social function SF, emotional function RE and mental health MH in the intervention group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05); the SAS and SDS scores of the intervention group were higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). Three months after discharge, The medication compliance of the intervention group was better than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Peer education can effectively improve patients'anxiety and depression, promote their active cooperation, improve their medication compliance, and further improve their quality of life.
