Abstract Objective To determine the effectiveness of moderate-length catheter's clinical application in pediatric ward by using micro introducer scabbard technology.Methods 268 children patients were randomly divided into two groups,the control group (137 cases) using BD indwelling needle for iv infusion,the experimental group (55 cases) using moderate-length catheter for iv infusion,the phlebitis after catheter uproot, fluid exudation,plugging rate, infection rate and the satisfaction of parents were compared between the two groups.Result Compared with the control group,the incidence of phlebitis and fluid exudation,plugging,infection were significant decreased, the satisfaction of parents were higher than the control group.Conclusion Choosing moderate-length catheter for infusion can decrease venous complications, improving the parents satisfaction.
