The relation between Helicobacter pylori infection and expression of Ki67,EGFR in gastric cancer |

Abstract Objective To explore the correlation between HP (Helicobacter pylori) infection and the expression of Ki67,EGFR in patients with gastric cancer.Methods 76 patients with gastric cancer were included in this study.Rapid urease test was used for detection of HP,immunohistochemistry was used to test expression of Ki67 and EGFR.Chi-Square test,Fisher's exact test and Spearman correlation was using to investigate the correlationship between HP infection and expression of Ki67 and EGFR in gastric tumor tissues.Results 41 cases of 76 patients with gastric cancer were HP positive,with a positive rate of 53.94%. Expression of Ki67 and EGFR was significantly higher in HP positive group than that in HP negative group,and an obviously negative correlation was found between HP infection and expression of Ki67 and EGFR.Conclusion The expression of Ki67 and EGFR was significantly higher in gastric cancer patients with HP infection than the patients without HP infection, which indicated that HP could promote development of gastric cancer via promotion of cell proliferation and tumor angiogenesis.
