Epidemiological study of anterior cruciate ligament injury in trauma population |

Abstract Objective To study the epidemiological characteristics of anterior cruciate ligament(ACL)injury in trauma people. Methods Four hundred and fifteen patientswho received a magnetic resonance examination of the knee in our institute from July 2015 to June 2016 were studied retrospectively, including 240 males and 175 females. The incidence of injury, gender difference and ligament injury were analyzed. Results The incidence of anterior cruciate ligament injured in the trauma population was 20.9%, withmale 22.0% and female 19.4% (P>0.05). The incidence of anterior cruciate ligament injured with other major ligaments was 42.7%, and the incidence of Combined medial collateral ligament was 28.1% (P<0.05). Conclusion The incidence of anterior cruciate ligament injured in the trauma population was 20.9%, showing no gender differences. The medial collateral ligament was most often merged with anterior cruciate ligament injury (28.1%).
