Respiratory function and limb function rehabilitation in stroke patients |

Abstract Objective To investigate the correlation between the improvement of respiratory function and rehabilitation of limb dysfunction in stroke patients. Methods One hundred and six stroke patients with hemiplegia were randomly divided into control group (53 cases) and intervention group (53 cases). The control group (53 cases) received routine rehabilitation treatment including exercise therapy, occupational therapy and traditional rehabilitation. The intervention group (53 cases) received respiratory muscle feedback training on this basis, five times a week for 4 weeks. Before and after treatment, the respiratory function, upper and lower limb function and activities of daily living were assessed, and the correlation between respiratory function, limb function and activities of daily living was analyzed. Results Respiratory function score, FMA score of upper and lower limb motor function and MBI score of intervention group were higher than those of control group (P<0.05). Respiratory function level of intervention group was positively correlated with FMA and MBI score of limb function (r=0.425、0.478,P<0.05. ) Conclusion Respiratory muscle feedback training can effectively improve the upper and lower limb motor function of stroke patients with hemiplegia, and improve their activities of daily living. Respiratory function improvement of stroke patients is positively correlated with the recovery of limb dysfunction. It can improve the level of respiratory function of patients in clinic to restore limb function.
