Abstract Objective To investigate the status of blood glucose control and quality of life in children with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM).Methods A total of 98 children with T1DM were randomly selected for investigation,and the blood samples were collected,and the quality of life control and quality of life status were evaluated by the quality of life measurement scale.Results The glycosylated hemoglobin (HbAlc) level of 98 children was (7.63±1.97) %.The blood glucose control of children with T1DM was related to age,disease duration,diabetes diet,blood glucose self-monitoring,diabetes education,place of residence and economic level.Young age,short disease duration,diet control,frequent monitoring of blood glucose level and diabetes education receiving were protective factors for good control of blood glucose level in T1DM children.The scores of physiological function and psychosocial function and the total score in good blood glucose control group were significantly higher than those in poor blood glucose control group.Conclusion Blood glucose control and quality of life can be improved by means of strengthening diet control, blood glucose monitoring, disease education and other ways.
