Effect of health education based on empowerment theory on readiness for hospital discharge of patients with acute myocardial infarction after PCI |

Abstract Objective To explore the effect of health education based on empowerment theory on readiness for hospital discharge of patients with acute myocardial infarction after PCI.Methods Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria,92 patients enrolled in this research who were diagnosed with acute myocardial infarction and received PCI from January to September in 2018.All patients were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group.Patients in the control group accepted routine health education after PCI, while patients in the observation group accepted health education based on empowerment. The difference of the two groups of readiness for hospital discharge was assessed.Results The total score(93.55±4.21) of readiness for hospital discharge in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (89.20±2.44), with a significant difference.Conclusion Health education based on empowerment improves the readiness for hospital discharge of patients with acute myocardial infarction after PCI compared with those patients educated with routine health education,so it is worthy of application.
