Application and effect of autogenous ipsilateral peroneus longus tendon in the reconstruction of anterior cruciate ligament in youth |

Abstract Objective To explore the possibility and early effect of autogenous ipsilateral peroneus longus tendon in the reconstruction of anterior cruciate ligament in youth.Methods From May 2013 to May 2018, 40 cases of ACL reconstruction with autogenous peroneus longus tendon under arthroscopy were collected, including 35 males and 5 females, aged 18-35 years old, with the average age 24.8 years old. The anterior cross was reconstructed with autogenous peroneus longus tendon. The femoral end was fixed with adjustable tight rope. The tibial end was fixed with interface screw. The postoperative evaluation included clinical examination, Lysholm knee function score and AOFAS ankle function score.Results Forty patients were followed up for 12-36 months, with an average follow-up of 25 months. Lysholm knee function score of the last follow-up (92.65 ± 0.44) was higher than that before the operation (50.65 ± 0.68), (P<0.05).Conclusion The application of autogenous ipsilateral peroneus longus muscle in the reconstruction of anterior cruciate ligament in young patients is satisfactory in the early stage, and there is no significant effect on ankle function after the removal of the peroneus longus tendon.
